New York Fashion Week AW 2012/2013....Hanneli

A lesson in how to wear white in the depths of winter courtesy of Hanneli (Emily manages it brilliantly as well teaming her neutrals with black). And her Tibi velvet kitty loafers/slippers? So sweet (and definitely not to be relegated to inside the house only).

I love all the coloured leather around this season and oxblood/bordeaux/merlot red is my favourite (followed closely by bottle/olive green). This is such a beautiful coat/dress on Hanneli....I think it may have been Valentino?

Love this sportif outfit on Hanneli (the college/Varsity jacket taken to the next level.....or at least to higher ground with those wooden platform heels!) and the way she has pinned back her hair....perfect if you are growing out a fringe.

New York Fashion Week SS 2012...Natalie and Hanneli

Although this was taken in the middle of the Meatpacking District, I just keep thinking that both these outfits would work so well for evening on a (glamorous) summer vacation (clearly not for those hiking Mount Etna as one of my best friend's has just done!). Think warm, sultry evenings in Santorini or on the Côte d’Azur....team with flat sandals for a more relaxed look.

Paris Fashion Week AW 2012...Hanneli

Today's posts are all about shorts: short, cute and frilly, mid-length and tailored, high-waisted, patterned or disguised as a skirt. And Hanneli's frilled leather shorts are probably the kind of shorts that you either absolutely love or absolutely loathe. Me? I love them. On Hanneli....they ~~probably~~ most definitely aren't going to suit everyone. They are fun, eye-catching, a little bit cheeky and I love Hanneli's styling.

Paris Fashion Week AW 2012...Hanneli

For me, there is a whole lotta 80's going on here with Hanneli's outfit. I think it is the wash and detailing on the jeans combined with the double-breasted jacket (with just a hint of 80's power dressing about it). But all brought firmly forward to 2012 with those Acne Alice platform pumps and the Valentino studded clutch.

Recreate Hanneli's look (kind of):

Preen pink Navigator blazer or Stella McCartney double-breasted hemp blazer or ASOS premium double breasted blazer

J Brand Aidan Slouchy jeans (they haven't got the fringing down the front but still have the same-ish vaguely 80's vintage feel)

Acne Alice silk platform pump or try the Audrey platform mules in denim or hot pink silk

Valentino VaVaVoom convertible clutch/ shoulder bag in black or patent red (I love this clutch and the way you can hold it with your fingers threaded through the studded band).
