D.I.Y. superstar Geneva Vanderzeil from A Pair and a Spare blog, Lincoln Centre, NYC, September 2012.
I thought I would post this photograph of Geneva as inspiration for those who are still trying to decide on something to wear on NYE. Such a pretty, fun party look (with pieces that are probably already in your wardrobe) topped off with the sweetest bow. NYE is the perfect excuse to wear something fabulous on your head!
p.s. Most of you will already know this but Geneva's book "DIY Fashionista: 40 stylish projects to re-invent and update your wardrobe" came out in October. Congratulations Geneva!
Chinese model Lina Zhang, after Ohne Titel, NYC, February 2012.
Slouchy trousers (excellent for hiding the excesses of the holiday season! Heston for Waitrose hidden orange Christmas pudding, custard, roast potatoes, I am looking at you!) plus a smart winter coat and scarf = perfect for brunch with friends, hitting the sales, running around town doing post-Christmas errands.
Hedvig Opshaug from Northern Light blog, before A Show, NYC, September 2012.
Soft, sexy (love those sneaky-peeky lace shorts), comfortable....and concealing a teeny tiny baby bump! This is such a beautiful look on Hedvig. I can imagine this looking amazing with flats for a more casual look.
British model Milly Simmonds (Elite London), after J.Crew, NYC, February 2012.
We saw Milly in work mode last week for MiH jeans, and this was what she was wearing, off-duty, in Feb after the J.Crew show. Love the pop of colour on her lips - so beautiful against her pale complexion and the black of her coat.
Korean model Sung Hee Kim (Wilhelmina), after 3.1 Phillip Lim, NYC, February 2012.
I am a big fan of leather shorts - this season, the longer the better - and the different textures in Sung Hee's outfit. While it is all black, the different fabrics help to make it look interesting.
Another alternative to a party dress for events during the festive season is a pair of sequined pants..... either slouchy like Peony's or more fitted jeans or leggings. Dress down with flats and a sweater/t-shirt for day and change into heels for evening.
The stunning Nicole Warne aka Gary Pepper girl, before A Show, NYC, September 2012.
This was (literally) the first time I met Nicole and I was blown away by her beauty* and style. Over the course of the fashion weeks and at a (hot dog!) party thrown by Peony, I got to know Nicole a little more....and she is just so lovely. One of those genuinely warm, funny and friendly people who you feel you have known for an age. And her personal style? Oooofff I just love her style!
