Autumn is the time for crackling fires (or at least pretending in front of a heater!), steaming hot chocolate topped with gooey marshmallows, unearthing gloves, beanies and bedsocks from their summer retreat in the wardrobe, bracing country walks followed by long pub lunches....and velvet. Love Aline's off-duty style and the clever way that she makes pieces from her wardrobe work when she is travelling. For example, this velvet jacket she took from super casual (i.e. teaming  with cut-off jean shorts) to the more sophisticated look in the photograph above. It isn't easy to pack for a long trip away so pieces that can go easily, effortlessly from day into night (and which don't take up much space in your suitcase) are essential.
